Hand Prosthesis with Mechanical Joint, circa1920
This carved wood prosthesis is equiped with two mechanisms in working condition
:
The first, at the wrist, allowing the rotation of the entire hand.
The second, by a toothed rack system, allows the grip of objects between
the thumb, index and majeur. A lever placed in the hollow of the palm
then triggers the opening and relaxes the object when activated.
Probably manufactured during the interwar period, in the 1920s.
