Hand Prosthesis with Mechanical Joint, circa1920

This carved wood prosthesis is equiped with two mechanisms in working condition :

The first, at the wrist, allowing the rotation of the entire hand.

The second, by a toothed rack system, allows the grip of objects between the thumb, index and majeur. A lever placed in the hollow of the palm then triggers the opening and relaxes the object when activated.

Probably manufactured during the interwar period, in the 1920s.

Lenght 20 cm, width 8 cm
